Yankee Stadium's Monument Park

Yesterday we arrived at Yankee Stadium two hours before game time, early enough to visit Monument Park, a tribute to the great Yankee ballplayers of yesteryear. To a very significant extent, the history of the New York Yankees is the history of baseball.

We entered through Gate 2 and were greeted by the Mickey Mouse MLB statue for the New York Yankees.

From the 2008 All-Star Game Statues on Parade series, this is the New York Yankees Statue of Liberty

Monument Park is located behind the Center Field wall in Yankee Stadium. It closes about 45 minutes before game time, but the line to enter it closes much earlier.
