Tony Sarg: Furiouser and Furiouser

An original cartoon by Tony Sarg from 1935 apparently is meant as a children's vocabulary-builder: "Furious means ANGRY!" Too bad it's not meant as a character-builder. That father's energy would be better spent fetching a bucket of water to rescue the fish.

Note:  If you should happen to be sitting on the obscure 1930's publication in which this cartoon originally appeared, don't be shy about it. People need to know.

Tony Sarg is the cartoonist and puppeteer who first introduced character balloons to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Melissa Sweet wrote and illustrated a children's book about him, a Caldecott honor winner. See my blog post on the book here.
