Andrea Arroyo: Memories Interlaced

The very talented Andrea Arroyo has a new exhibition opening tomorrow in upper Manhattan at the Shabazz Center. As you can see, her work is figurative and colorful, laden with sweeping movement and an abiding sense of mystery and beauty. This artist is one of New York's treasures. Try to catch the show if you can.

Note:  My previous post on Andrea Arroyo's work is here.

Ms. Arroyo's website is here.

In other news, the documentary "Gahan Wilson:  Born Dead, Still Weird" by Steven-Charles Jaffe has its website here. The film opens tomorrow in Beverly Hills, California and will run through November 28. Here once again are the gory details:

Fifty years ago this week President John Fitzgerald Kennedy was assassinated. I have my one barely relevant blog post here.

"Catching Fire" opens nationwide on Friday. My reviews of the books in The Hunger Games series may be found here.
