In what must be one of Otto Soglow's most charming drawings ever, the Little King waves us his royal wave as he sits cross-legged atop two hearts pierced by Cupid's arrow. The drawing is inscribed, "With best wishes to Stanley/O. Soglow." Lucky Stanley!
The original art is certainly good enough to have been published and it bears markings that suggest it very well may have been. It should be nearly impossible to resist this drawing, except that the paper is extensively foxed. Or, as the eBay seller put it so succinctly, "slight Fox and girl could be professionally cleaned..."
Could she ever.
Note: Is this a souvenir drawing made for a fan, or was it, as seems quite plausible, published somewhere? If so, where? Soglow fans, tell us what you know please.
Otto Soglow's work is old enough to be new to most of us. Attempted Bloggery seeks scans or photographs of original artwork or neglected published works by this cartoonist.
