In its October 20, 2025, sale, Heritage Auctions offered a small souvenir drawing by Dr. Seuss. It shows Max, the hapless dog in How the Grinch Stole Christmas!, the 1957 book. Max's head is seen in profile, smiling for once.

For Charles Addams, souvenir drawings of Addams Family characters served as a kind of social currency. Many were given to friends and fans. Some are done on blank pages of his cartoon collections. Some are not—or at least are not any longer.
A sketch of Wednesday with a very large pet—is that a cat?—is an example of a drawing that may never have been on a book page. A light wash was added to the drawing resulting in some mild bleeding of the ink. Offered for sale by Schulson Autographs, Ltd., of Millburn, New Jersey, it was priced at $1,925 in October.

Argosy Book Store has listed a souvenir drawing by Otto Soglow of his beloved character the Little King. It is dedicated to A. Atlas Leve, a coin, stamp, and currency dealer. The piece is framed and glazed, and the paper shows some toning. Argosy dates it to the 1930s. The Little King first appeared in The New Yorker and the popular feature was later syndicated as a comic strip.

The cartoons of Charles Addams have been achieving some astonishing prices at auction in recent times, especially those featuring his ever-popular Addams Family characters. Some of those strong prices are working their way downmarket as well. Over the years, the artist presented countless souvenir drawings to friends and fans. Here a large drawing of Morticia is dated 1959 and inscribed in San Antonio, Texas, to one Lee. Five years before "The Addams Family" television show first aired, the character we know as Morticia would have been an as yet unnamed "witch lady." The framed drawing is offered by Meier and Sons Rare Books for $4,795.

Almost all of Chester Gould's souvenir drawings include his signature comic strip character Dick Tracy but at least one sketch, made out to a Sam, does not. Instead it has the rather unkempt character B. O. Plenty, who first appeared in the strip in 1945. Perhaps this uncommon sketch came into being because of a special request from Sam. But perhaps not.

A souvenir drawing by Dr. Seuss was presumably created for someone named Broder, unless that wasn't his name, who may have been a horse breeder, unless that wasn't his trade. It may just be a work of pure fancy, as drawings of two-headed horses often are.
