Moebius Futurescape

Artist Moebius (Jean Giraud) created a panoramic landscape that manages to combine elements of ancient art, futuristic invention, and even a prehistoric creature. Well, why not? The preliminary ink artwork was sold last month on eBay.

Hey, I did a little googling myself. Here's the bigger published version I found, far more impressive I think than the preliminary sketch.

    1. Hi, Volumenn. You're the second person to leave such a comment on one of my Moebius posts from eBay, and I'm beginning to sense a problem. You are also the second person to not explain why you think it is a fake. Shall I try instead?

For a supposed rough, it seems to follow the lines of the finished drawing very scrupulously, yet it leaves out important central elements of the finished work. The pen strokes are rather thicker than they need to be, making it difficult to draw the fine futuristic cables toward the center. Also, the flying men have been omitted. So what you're suggesting, I think, is that someone has traced or copied only the simpler elements from the finished work and done it somewhat crudely at that.
