My Entry in The New Yorker Cartoon Caption Contest #764

It's quite a climb to The New Yorker Cartoon Caption Contest #764 from the issue of July 26, 2021. This time my caption, shown below, came to me on the last day of the contest. The drawing is by P. C. Vey.

"Just don't make waves."

My Entry in The New Yorker Cartoon Caption Contest #614

You can tap your feet to my entry in The New Yorker Cartoon Caption Contest #614 for April 30, 2018. The drawing is by Julia Suits.
"What do you mean you haven't practiced?"

These captions were just a little out of tune:
"Play something uplifting."
"You must be Sam. Play it again."
"I seek the keys."
"Any idea what you've missed out there?"
"You called for a piano mover?"
"Do you know anything meditative?"
"You ordered a candelabra?"
"Would it be appropriate to start with some ascending scales?"
"It's a duet all right, but I wrote it for two pianos."

May 7, 2018 Update:  The Finalists

May 14, 2018 Update:  I voted for the second caption.

May 21, 2018 Update:  Winning Caption

Note: Last week cartoonist Pia Guerra made it pretty rough in the interrogation room. Even my caption needed a lawyer. Fess up to Contest #613.

There simply isn't enough about Julia Suits in the blog archives.

My Entry in the New Yorker Cartoon Caption Contest #603

Step up to my entry in the New Yorker Cartoon Caption Contest #603 for February 5, 2018. The drawing is by John Klossner.

"I can't seat you with that altitude."

These captions couldn't make it to the summit:
"Table for one with everything?"
"You must discover for yourself how to make a reservation."
"Always carry a credit card."
"Finally, someone from Zagat's."
"As my delivery boy, you have to use the back elevator."

"Don't order the trout."
"Reservation under what mantra?"
"I don't care if you think Shanahan's guru was funnier."

February 19, 2018 Update:  The Finalists

February 26, 2018 Update:  I voted for the first caption, although I do like the third one also.

March 5, 2018 Update:  Winning Caption

Note:  Last week cartoonist Tom Cheney visited the sick bed of the Gingerbread Man. My caption was only half-baked. Run, run, as fast as you can to Contest #602.
