A man sits perched in a birdcage while the speaker is a woman, surely his wife, who is having tea with a friend. This is the setup for the Cartoon Collections Caption Contest #60. Only three entries are permitted and I for once followed the rules. The drawing is by Christopher Weyant.

Here is my entry in the New Yorker Cartoon Caption Contest #467 for March 23, 2015. The drawing is by Paul Noth.

"I told him no way you're flying south without me."

Morticia's Bird Cage

On Thursday, Heritage Auctions sold this vintage Charles Addams illustration, circa 1955. It is a very nice rendering of Morticia from the Addams Family tending to her--well, they aren't exactly birds. Very nice and ghoulish indeed!
