Adrian Tomine's 32 Stories Limited Edition

I have mentioned in the past my love of limited editions and my antipathy toward bookplates. But what if the limitation of a book is designated by a bookplate rather than by a traditional printed limitation page? Well, sometimes one has to make compromises. The limitation bookplate for Adrian Tomine's 32 Stories:  The Complete Optic Nerve Mini-Comics (1995) is a case in point. It's really not bad: a color illustrated bookplate that is hand-signed and numbered in an edition of 500—fairly large. For a book collector, when the bookplate edition is the only limited edition, it may still be the best game in town.

Note:  Drawn & Quarterly just published Adrian Tomine's The Loneliness of the Long-Distance Cartoonist. If there's a limited edition, I haven't heard about it.

Gil Roth interviews Adrian Tomine about his new book on the Virtual Memories Show here.

Me, I'm still stuck in 1995.
