My Entry in the New Yorker Cartoon Caption Contest #544

This week I took a giant step in the New Yorker Cartoon Caption Contest #544 for November 7, 2016. The drawing is by P. C. Vey.

"Do we really need two head writers?"

Well, that certainly didn't wow anyone at the New Yorker. Fortunately for the sake of the Caption Contest, we have cartoon editor Bob Mankoff providing some expert quality control. He has selected his top ten captions from among the entries.

November 21, 2016 Update:  I voted for the third caption.

November 28, 2016: Winning Caption

Note: Last week, cartoonist Peter Kuper refused to talk about the elephant in the room. Naturally, my caption wouldn't talk about it either. In fact, let's not discuss Contest #543 at all. Or, for that matter, the Election.

Check out the blog archives to see all the headway P. C. Vey has made here.
