Barbara Shermund: Shop Talk

Barbara Shermund's original color cartoon art of a conversation between two single young women most probably ran in Esquire in the 1940's or 1950's. The woman on the right loves it when her boyfriend talks shop--and with good reason. The cartoon reinforces the stereotype that attractive women are interested in men with money, although in this case the money might be rather difficult to get one's fingers on. The framed original artwork was sold in February on eBay for $75 plus shipping.

Barbara Shermund, "Oh, I love to hear him talk shop--He works for the U.S. mint!"
Original art.  Esquire?
