Garry Trudeau Plays Ball

Yesterday we looked at a baseball drawn upon by none other than cartoonist Charles M. Schulz and noted that his drawing of Snoopy made it the most desirable baseball from what arguably may be the best collection of baseballs drawn upon by cartoonists anywhere. Yet it does not have the honor of being the most expensive baseball embellished by a cartoonist listed on eBay at the present moment. That distinction belongs to a baseball signed by five prominent newspaper comic strip cartoonists and offered by eBay seller historydirect. They are Garry Trudeau ("Doonesbury"), Brad Anderson ("Marmaduke"), Tom Wilson ("Ziggy"), Bil Keane ("The Family Circus"), and Mort Walker ("Beetle Bailey"). Collector Rick Kain did a nice job putting this one together.

Note:  Besides attending batting practice, the best way to prepare for the World Series is to review my blog posts about baseball.
