Eldon Dedini Plays Ball

The eBay auction listing starts out with, "We are breaking up one of the best cartoonists-drawn-on-baseball collections in the world." One of the best? This is a thing? And all this time I thought collectable baseballs should be signed by ballplayers.

Still, I like this idea. A "cartoonist-drawn-on-baseball" (there's got to be a better name for it) by Eldon Dedini is quite entertaining. He's drawn his signature satyr on the ball—twice!—and still had room to sign and dedicate it. At $39.95, that's getting your money's worth.

EBay Item Description

Note:  Who needs a baseball signed by Babe Ruth? Eldon Dedini draws better.

Just to be clear, the Chris Paolini to whom this baseball is dedicated is a cartoon collector and not a kid who writes books about dragons and such. He could still put together a great book, but it would likely be about how to assemble a superb cartoon collection. Put me down for an advance copy.

In case you didn't know, the baseball postseason is well-underway, or so I hear.
