Jean-Michel Folon for American Ballet Theatre

Original watercolor artwork by Jean-Michel Folon celebrates the fiftieth anniversary of the American Ballet Theatre in 1990. The disembodied cut-out doll limbs mark this illustration as one of Folon's many surrealistic images. This artwork could have been used in several ways such as for posters, advertisements, or brochures. It was certainly used for printed cards.

Also from eBay, here's an example of how this original artwork was used. The listing also features the classic sales line "Inside of bag somewhat grimy." There's such a thing as too much honesty.
This selection of American Ballet Theatre 50th anniversary cards was sponsored by Lexus. Folon's design is featured at the top left.
