On September 20, Swann Galleries is offering this rare example of a hand-colored etching by Marc Chagall. I'm never quite sure of meaning where Chagall is concerned, but he seems to be mixing the holy and the earthly quite freely. The composition is divided between the divinely-inspired, the animal, and the carnal. In short, it's all here, and it's beautiful.
