The great cartoonist Anatol Kovarsky (1919-2016) was born on this date 104 years ago. Even those already familiar with his "Easter Hats" New Yorker cover of May 15, 1965 might be surprised at the vibrant colors in his original. Nearly six decades later, it's clear that there is an enduring vitality to Kovarsky's art. His original illustration, with all the frills upon it, is currently listed by Honey & Wax Booksellers of Brooklyn.
