Here is a photo I took earlier today in Manhattan. The sign itself may be upside-down, but at least the arrow is pointing in the right direction!

January 16, 2013 Update: The sign is now right-side-up. It also has been rotated ninety degrees around the pole, so that it is directing southbound rather than eastbound traffic correctly toward the F.D.R. Drive.

I don't get it. How can the arrow be pointing in the right direction if the sign is upside-down? Was it pointing in the wrong direction when it was right-side-up?
ReplyDeleteYes, Leo, that's it exactly! The sign is wrong. An arrow pointing to the left would send drivers into a dead end alley.
