A Disney Trading Pin for Valentines

The classic pie-eyed Minnie and Mickey Mouse face each other in a 2015 hinged Disney trading pin. The heart-shaped pin is in two pieces held together by two round links. The large and unconventional design requires two pin backs, so it's not an easy thing to wear. No matter; it's great to look at.

Kathin and Utig's copy of Les Amoreaux de la Côte d'Azur by Raymond Peynet has an original drawing of two lovebirds singing while perched on a heart. It is a nice valentine, but one can say that about any of Peynet's drawings.

Matt Groening: A Binky Valentine

Binky, the rabbit from Matt Groening's comic strip Life in Hell, is depicted on a souvenir card running with a valentine. The original sketch is executed in blue and red ink and dated November 17, 1988. The card is encased in a slab for authentication, a practice I cannot endorse for drawings, but every year one sees more such miniature works of art under plastic. The drawing has been sold on eBay for an undisclosed best offer.
