There Are Ladies Present by Helen E. Hokinson

There Are Ladies Present (1952) collects cartoons by Helen E. Hokinson (1893-1949) all of which were initially published in The New Yorker between 1927 and 1949, the year she died in a plane crash. The copyright page notes that some cartoons were initially published with different captions, something that might be worth looking into. Hokinson's gagwriter was James Reid Parker; their partnership began in 1931. The eBay seller of this book listed four other Hokinson books concurrently, two of which were linked to Parker. It seems reasonable then to assume that this copy may once have belonged to Parker, but the seller makes no claim and there is no physical indication of ownership in the book.
