New York 2023: The Brooklyn Bridge

One week ago today, New York was warm and cloudy, but it wasn't filled with a smoky haze from Canadian wildfires. It was a good day to cross the Brooklyn Bridge from Brooklyn into Manhattan. Please join me on a walk to the ferry at Wall Street followed by a trip up the East River. We start in Brooklyn at the sculpture Unity by Hank Willis Thomas, unveiled in 2019.

There is a large pedestrian walkway across the Brooklyn Bridge above the level of the motorcars. There is a separate bike path.

The Manhattan Bridge is to the north.

The lower Manhattan skyline is dominated by One World Trade Center.

Photo opportunities abound. Ask anyone.

  1. Great photos! I suggest you try a tour of the West Side and upper Manhattan for museums, colonial and historic sights.
