Pablo Picasso's Dancers

Two of the loveliest Picasso drawings I have ever seen anywhere were listed in the Swann Galleries catalogue for sale in September of 2002.  The drawings depict two groups of dancers, three men and two women.  It seems plausible that Picasso took his drawing materials into a dance studio.

The pair of drawings from around 1920 work extremely well together and must make a handsome pair. Of course, they were listed as two sequential lots, a common practice.  (It's an unfortunate fact of life that sellers typically get paid more by breaking up a group than by keeping it together.  This can occasionally create something of a moral dilemma for caring sellers.)  In this case, the lots were both withdrawn before the sale.  I have no further information on the whereabouts of these two absolutely wonderful drawings.
