Albert Goodwin's Ponte Alle Grazie

Albert Goodwin's watercolor of Florence's serene Ponte Alle Grazie is a sobering reminder of a beautiful lost bridge, which it seems once nearly rivaled the nearby Ponte Vecchio. The bridge was destroyed by the retreating German army in 1944. A new if far less distinctive bridge was completed in 1953.
