My Entry in The New Yorker Cartoon Caption Contest #721

Let down your hair and enjoy my entry in The New Yorker Cartoon Caption Contest #721 dated August 24, 2020. The tall tale is drawn by P. C. Vey.
"But I HAVE been social distancing."

These captions weren't Grimm enough:
"Not when I've just cut my hair!"
"Didn't you hear me? I said to build a wall."
"Hey, you forgot to install wi-fi."
"But I don't WANT a Prince Charming."

August 31, 2020 Update:  The Finalists

September 7, 2020 Update:
I voted with Buffalo, and not only because of the passing resemblance to one of my unsubmitted captions.

September 14, 2020 Update:  The Winner

Note:  Last week in the Caption Contest, cartoonist Benjamin Schwartz showed Sisyphus interrupted in his endless uphill task by a woman sitting at a bar with a drink. Put aside your work long enough to check out Contest #720.

My Entry in the New Yorker Cartoon Caption Contest #673

I've thrown down my entry in the New Yorker Cartoon Caption Contest #673 for the issue of August 19, 2019. The drawing is by Victoria Roberts.

"Why don't I just lower my rope ladder instead?"

These captions didn't comb out:
"I thought you liked it silky smooth."
"Every gym has a climbing rope."
"Are there any other athletes at home?"
"I asked for just one thing."
"I don't think this relationship is going anywhere."
"Then what more motivation do you need?"

September 2, 2019 Update:  I voted with Ann Arbor.

September 9, 2019 Update:
  The Winner

Note:  Last week cartoonist P. C. Vey got all medical on us. Here's the Rx for Contest #672.

My Entry in The New Yorker Cartoon Caption Contest #639

Here is my fairy-tale entry in The New Yorker Cartoon Caption Contest #639 for November 12, 2018. The drawing is by Michael Maslin.

"My do or yours?"

These alternative captions had a bad hair day:
"Two can play this game."
"Did I apply too much product?"
"Come on down!"
"Rapunzel, how would you like to become the next Madame de Pompadour?"

November 19, 2018 Update:  The Finalists

December 3,2018 Update:  I voted for the second caption.

December 10, 2018 Update:  Winning Caption

Note:  Last week cartoonist Farley Katz put a couple of drones to good use. My caption didn't prove as uplifting as I'd hoped. Rise up to Contest #638.

Then brush up on my old blog posts about Michael Maslin.
