Recently, New Yorker cartoonist Joe Dator listed a number of his original drawings on the Big Cartel website. One of these was published in April of 2020, the month after the COVID-19 pandemic was declared by the World Health Organization. It draws an interesting parallel with a plague four centuries earlier.

This drawing, like all of Dator's Big Cartel drawings, was also listed on eBay, where we now see that it has been sold.
Note: Did Shakespeare really write "King Lear" while London was in lockdown from the bubonic plague? Could be. The Guardian covered the topic here the month before Joe Dator's cartoon appeared in The New Yorker.
