I was pleased to run into New Yorker cartoonist Dan Misdea at the Princeton Children's Book Festival on October 7. Several of his caption contest cartoons have appeared here on the blog. His new book is The Light Inside, a beautifully conceived and illustrated book for children ages 3 to 7 and for bloggers of all ages.

W. Heath Robinson's delightful story illustration And Gathered Up the Immense Pumpkin in His Arms was created for "The Woodcutter and His Three Sons" by Liliane M. C. Clopet. It was published in Dr. Clopet's Once Upon a Time (1944), Robinson's final illustrated book. Chris Beetles exhibited the original in the fall of 2015 along with most—or perhaps all—of the artwork from the book. It remains available today for 1,250 GBP.
