Joseph Farris: The Latin Riddle Book

Cartoonist Joseph Farris, who passed away last week at the age of 90, provided the illustrations to The Latin Riddle Book published in 1988. Forty-one drawings from the project, including the cover drawing and an alternative version of the cover, were offered at auction last month by Swann Galleries. The collection of original book illustrations did not find a buyer despite a reasonable estimate. Sic transit gloria mundi.
