The prices for original Charles Addams drawings continue to rise, and the prices of his renderings of Addams Family members continue to rise more so. Still, souvenir drawings of a standing Wednesday Addams, the daughter in everyone's favorite ghoulish family, seem to be more common than those of the other family members. It is surprising, therefore, to find a December 1954 Addams inscription with such a drawing being offered by a Pasadena bookseller for a very solid $3,000. It's a really nice copy, but is it $3,000 worth of really nice? It is also surprising that this dealer would try to sell the book with the prominent shadow of a cell phone on the photo of the critical page. Could this listing be a response to early publicity for the new Netflix series "Wednesday" due later this year from Tim Burton and starring Jenna Ortega as the title character? A short but intriguing teaser has been released. Original Addams drawings of this character may already be asking a new premium.
