On Wednesday evening at the Society of Illustrators, designer Chip Kidd and cartoonist Patrick McDonnell discussed The Art of Nothing: 25 Years of Mutts and the Art of Patrick McDonnell.
Afterwards, the cartoonist signed copies of his book, including mine. I requested a drawing of the character Guard Dog.
