Note:  There's more work by Muriel Jacobs than you might think on the old blog. There is also present one more old-fashioned cheerleader with a megaphone, but I'm pretty sure she's not cheering for cartoonists.

Bill Steig's Star-Crossed Lover

This original ink drawing by William Steig was a gift of the artist to cartoonist Muriel Jacobs circa 1966. It shows a lone figure holding a flower while gazing upward at bright, dazzling stars. On the lower right, it is signed informally Bill Steig.

I do not know if this drawing was ever published. It comes from the estate of Muriel Jacobs and was sold on eBay back in 2008. Five interested parties bid the price up to $140.50, which seems slight for such a poetic drawing. The artwork now belongs to a private collector in New York.

This is an original ink drawing by cartoonist Muriel Jacobs. It comes directly from her estate and was sold on eBay. The patient is now medically cleared for discharge to home. And there's no need to stamp the paperwork.

Muriel Jacobs: Husbandus XXth Century

I'm not familiar with the work of cartoonist Muriel Jacobs. The biographical tidbit from this eBay listing stating that she published work in The New Yorker appears to be suspect. This drawing came out of her estate and shows, it seems, an accurate ancient Roman foretelling of the 20th Century husband phenomenon.
