Sandy Maran's bookplate is treated by Edward Koren the same way the cartoonist treats any other blank space on a sheet of paper; he uses it to make a delightful drawing. Sandy did not treat it as a typical bookplate, choosing instead not to affix it to a book. Better to frame it than to stick it in a book, no?
