Since our last visit to the Monomoy Island National Wildlife Refuge, the area near the headquarters has suffered serious erosion. The boardwalk and stairs accessing the beach from the refuge headquarters have been removed.
For pedestrians, there remains a trailhead off Tisquantum Road through an easement on private property. 
This leads to the Morris Island Loop Trail.
