Ed Fisher: Passing Fancy

In a 1959 cartoon for The New Yorker,
Ed Fisher (1926-2013) managed to find humor in a funeral procession. The original art was given by the artist to one Ed Rosenthal. Decades later it may have been sold through the New Yorker Store. This past March it was sold on eBay.

It's a good cartoon, better than the $129.99 Buy It Now price might lead one to believe. The artwork has some significant condition issues and is in serious need of reframing. Still, it would be hard to argue that the buyer didn't get a good deal.
"See if you can pass that car. He would have wanted it that way."

Note:  Nine men named Ed Fisher have Wikipedia pages, but the New Yorker cartoonist isn't one of them. Why not?
