Beatrice Stanton, who was married to cartoonist Barney Tobey, contributed eleven covers to the
New Yorker. Two proposed but rejected covers were sold at Swann Auction Galleries in January. Both are excellent works of art; why not sell them separately?

Note: There is a large spectrum of
proposed but rejected New Yorker covers. The best of them, like these, are in my opinion as good as anything published on the cover of the magazine.
