Last week, Swann Auction Galleries of New York City offered Evelyn Hofer's intriguing 1978 portrait of cartoonist Saul Steinberg posing with a life-size cut-out of himself as a boy. The photograph is from the estate of art dealer Evelyne Z. Daitz. It did not find a buyer.
