Can the British and the Colonists manage to get along if they're good looking enough? Artist J. C. Leyendecker raises the question in Truce, his charming cover for the Saturday Evening Post of July 4, 1931. The original cover art sold on May 7 at Heritage for $162,500 including the buyer's premium. The American Revolution went ahead anyway.

Thank you for this inormation. As an art student, cat lover and history buff, this post has everything. I like the lighting, brush strokes and anatomy of the cat. And the experssion is mysterious, just like a cat. Well done!
