Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox, is the oldest Major League ballpark. I made my first visit there on August 1. It's obvious why Red Sox fans love this old stadium and want to keep it forever. Entering on Yawkey Way, one immediately enters a festive atmosphere cerebrating the Red Sox. The stadium itself is small by today's standards and therefore intimate; a game feels like a big family gathering. The park is largely free of the distracting amplified noise that fills every free second in most other parks. The Red Sox took on the Tampa Bay Rays and handily defeated them, 11-7.

In 1919, The Red Sox sold Babe Ruth's contract to the New York Yankees. Smart move. |

Copper tanks, hot water heaters memorialized. Personally, I think this is a bit much. |
