Mischa Richter: Bathing Buddies

A cartoon by Mischa Richter presumably from the era of the second World War comes to us without its publication history and with only an incomplete caption. "How many times, Wilkins, must I ask you not to leave a...?" A what? The original punch line is obliterated with white out. Whatever implement of modern warfare Wilkins left in the wash basin, the gag most likely wasn't overly crude.

Note:  If any reader can place this cartoon in a publication and provide the complete caption, I know military historians will be forever grateful. And maybe Wilkins can stop feeling so guilty about whatever he carelessly left lying about.

As always, Attempted Bloggery desires scans and photographs of original cartoon art by Mischa Richter and other New Yorker artists, preferably with captions intact.
