Addams Family Tree

On Saturday at 1 p.m., Illustration House will offer 76 lots of illustration art, the penultimate one being this design for a dinner invitation.  Charles Addams has decorated the Christmas tree with bizarre ornaments in the shape of Addams Family heads. The illustration is signed and dated 1979. The festive dinner was held on Friday, December 21. The lot is accompanied by a printed dinner invitation with signatures of the attendees including illustrator Constantin Alajálov.
It's hard to say whether this simple Addams drawing will reach the $5,000 to $7,000 estimate. Certainly many collectors seek out original artwork with the Addams Family characters and this has them in abundance, at least above the neck.
